Dionysios Chionis

Prof. Dionysios Chionis is currently with Department of Economics, Democritus University of Thrace.  Holds a Ph. D. in Economics  by  Un. of  Strathclyde while previously has completed his studies in economics within the Dept. of Economics National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (B.A), M.Sc. in Int. Banking and Finance with  Edinburgh University, M.Sc. in Econ. University of Glasgow. Has served as a Dean of the Department and Head of the School of Social, Economics and Political science at Democritus University of Thrace. Has also served as a  member of the Council of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education

During his professional career has served as a member of the economic cabinet of the Greek prime minister and  previously involved in the public administration as a member of the board of public entities and  holding various managerial  positions. Has also served as an expert in the European Commission. He is an Author of books and publications in referred journals in the area of economics and financial economics.
